Brisbane's newest Creative Arts space by internationally renowned dancer Bebe.
Our creative arts school begins with a boy, born into poverty, in the spectacularly beautiful and culturally rich Afro-Brazilian city of Porto Seguro, Brazil. Bebe first learned the Brazilian Lambada when, as a 12yo, he would sneak into the Lambada beach nightclubs with his friends to dance under the stars. Within 2 years he won his first Professional level competition and began teaching and performing Lambada and Samba, and was then able to help provide for his family.
25 years later, Bebe’s top level skills and has seen him teaching and performing, as an acclaimed international Zouk Lambada professional, across Brazil, Argentina, United Kingdom, Spain, Israel, South Africa, Malaysia, Singapore, New Zealand, Netherlands, Malta, and Australia. In 2013-14, with hard work and discipline, Bebe became a full-time Principal Performer with the international touring Brazilian dance company ‘Brazouka’, sister company to ‘Burn The Floor’.
In 2018, Fortaleza Dance + Arts was formed in Brisbane as a creative arts space to develop and promote authentic and original Brazilian and World dance styles. ‘’Fortaleza’’ is close to our hearts and is Portuguese for never giving up and to have courage!
